Read the Pre-Election Report produced by Council. It's a politically neutral overview of important issues facing Ruapehu District Council, and is designed to promote public discussion and informed debate in the lead-up to the 2025 Local Government elections. It will be published in June 2025.
Look at our current Long Term Plan 2024-2034: this document sets the direction for the District for the next 10 years and is formally reviewed and updated every three years. It describes the activities of Council and shows the whole picture of how the activities are managed, delivered and funded.
Read the latest Annual Report that closed out the last Financial Year, comparing Council's actual performance for the year against the forecast in the Annual Plan.
Get familiar with the 2025/26 Annual Plan when it is produced in June 2025. The plan is prepared in years two and three after the adoption of the Long Term Plan (LTP). It outlines exceptions to what was forecast for those years in the LTP. As time goes by, unexpected things may occur that mean that adjustments need to be made to the plans, both in terms of projects and finances.
