Ngahuinga Cherry Grove to Turaki Street Walkway improvements

As part of our accessible walkways project, Ruapehu District Council in conjunction with Horizons Regional Council are undertaking works to repair and improve the walkway from Ngahuinga Cherry Grove to Turaki Street.

Works are underway to repair and improve the Turaki Street – Ngahuinga/Cherry Grove walkway, and good progress has already been made

Starting next week, Horizons Regional Council will be removing the invasive trees along the path from Victory Bridge to the end of Turaki Street and Ruapehu District Council will be undertaking works to widen the path and construct an accessible ramp from the stopbank at Turaki Street down to the new track.

Due to the Health and Safety risk, Council have decided to close the track week commencing 15th May 2023.
