Ruapehu dog owners will start receiving their 2024/25 dog registration invoices from after Monday 20 May with fee levels remaining unchanged from last year.
Licensing and Compliance Manager Phoebe Harrison said that with 1,785 registered dog owners on our database owning 4,464 dogs this was always a very busy time of year for Council staff.
“Dog registration fees are due by 30 June however we would urge owners to re-register their dog(s) as soon as possible and not leave it until the last minute," she said.
"Owners can pay fees can be paid online via our website or at their local Council office,” she said.
“There are significant financial benefits on offer for dog owners who pay on time and meet other legal and good dog owner obligations.
As all councils in New Zealand have the same timetable for dog registrations which is the same year-after-year all long-term dog owners should be aware of the registration requirements.
Dog owners registered under the Responsible Owner category should note that paying their registration fees by 30 June is a requirement for maintaining the associated benefits.
Anyone with questions on their registration fees or wanting to know how they can qualify for the available discounts can obtain further information from our website, or call customer services on 07 895 8188, or drop-by their local Council office.
