Council office and Library shutdown period

All Council offices and libraries close at 12 noon on Tuesday 24 December and reopen on Monday 6 January 2025.

Council staff will be on-call over the Christmas and new Year shutdown period.

isites in Taumarunui and Ohakune are closed Christmas Day otherwise open as per usual hours.

Building and Resource Consents acceptance and processing

Any Building and Resource Consents submitted after Friday 20 December 2024 may not start to be processed until Monday 13 January 2025 due to the Christmas/ New Year statutory non working days.

Refuse Collection

The Kerbside Collection team will be having Christmas Day and New Years Day off only.

Normal collection days will move back one day to allow for these holidays.

Wednesday 25 December Kerbside will be done the next day - Thursday 26 December
Thursday 26 December Kerbside will be done the next day - Friday 27 December
Wednesday 1 January 2025 Kerbside will be done the next day - Thursday 2 January 2025
Thursday 2 January 2025 kerbside will be done the next day - Friday 3 January 2025

Waiouru Community please refer to the website of environz for wheelie bins and recycling. Foodwaste collection remains Friday.

Transfer Stations and Reuse Shops

All Transfer Stations and Reuse Shops are closed Christmas Day (Wed 25 Dec), Boxing Day (Thu 26 Dec), New Years Day (Wed 1 Jan), and the day after New Years Day (Thu 2 Jan)

LIM reports

The last day a LIM must be applied for to ensure delivery before Christmas is 9 December 2024.
We still accept all applications made before Christmas.
We will do our very best to deliver all LIMs made before Christmas, but
We will not be able to process applications received on or after 20 December in time before Christmas.
