e-Books
Have you run out of books to read but aren't able to get to the library?
Are you going on holiday but don't want your baggage weighed down with heavy books?
Do you struggle to return library books on time and are always getting overdue notices? Books are going missing or getting chewed by pets?
.....then the library eBook service may be the answer for you.
Electronic books (e-Books) are available through Council libraries. All you need to do is download Libby, which is the reading app for the OverDrive ebook provider. The app is very simple to use and allows access to eBook, eAudio and eMagazine catalogues 24/7, 365 days a year. Items are automatically 'returned' on their due date without you having to visit the library - no more overdue letters or having to pay for lost books!
To get started, you will need:
- a compatible digital device - iPads and other tablets, smartphones, notebooks and PC's, and most eBook readers with the exception of Kindle (although Kindle Fire may be used). They need to have a modern web browser (eg. Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer 10, Safari etc).
- an internet or Wi-Fi connection.
- a visit or call to your local Ruapehu library to set up a personal password.
Access the OverDrive e-Book catalogue and Libby app from here.
You can also access e-books via the Ruapehu Library app
