On Ruapehu's journey toward our Zero Waste 2040 vision we all need to be prepared to make a bigger commitment to reducing, reusing, recycling and composting.
Although this will require some change to current behaviours it doesn't need to be difficult or time-consuming with a little organisation and understanding.
To help with this process Council runs a programme of Waste Minimisation and Sustainability Workshops aimed at giving people the knowledge and skills to reduce their waste footprint.
All the workshops are fun, FREE and child friendly and provide a wide range of useful, practical advice.
At the workshops you can learn all about; worm farms and compost, pruning, pickles and preserved fruit, Boomerang Bags, beeswax wraps, no-sew bags, produce bags and delicious kai from Love Food Hate Waste seasonal cookbooks and many other things.
